adiNation Training Run – 1 June 2011

Distance: 4 laps * 2.3km = 9.2km (Garmin: 9.12km)

Timing: 47:51 for 5:15 min/km pace

Laps 1 - 3

Yesterday’s session was supposed to be a recovery session since most of us raced over the weekend (Ekiden and Sundown). Vijay and Malcalm had started earlier and Ronnie and I jumped in at their round 2. The pace was fairly moderate as we caught up on the events over the weekend. Aron joined us in lap 2 (lap 3 for Vijay; Malcalm had dropped back by the half way mark in lap 1). Laps 2 and 3 were at a slightly faster pace but manageable. Guess what? Ronnie kept pace with us! He must have been suffering inside having to keep to our “tortoise” speed.

Elfin h***…Ronnie had a sudden surge of energy and powered ahead; Vijay and Aron tried to keep up and did well doing so. Not so for moi…I’m not suicidal! But I was glad that the distance between them and me wasn’t too wide, probably around 20-40 meters?

Looks like it was anything but a recovery run!

My entire body was in “pain” for most of the night – weight training on Tuesday and Wednesday plus the “supposed-to-be” recovery run. The upper body is recovering but the quads and hamstring (and everywhere else for that matter!) are burning – I even had problem coming down the stairs.
