Taman Desa Run – 15 January 2013

Route: Seputeh – Taman Desa
Distance: 6km (Garmin: 7.32km – reasons below)
Timing: 40:54 for 5:35 min/km pace

Shortish run this morning as Kenny overslept; plus we both ran over the weekend and have no races or events coming up, at least on my end. Psst…I’m close to the 3-month mark, so another 3 months to go!

Kenny figured that since this was a short run, might as well speedy up. Uummm…he forgot to send the memo or rather he sent it at 8am, well after we finished the run. Faster pace, turnover but it was do-able. Read: I was trailing him, in fact I was trailing him for the entire route.

This is where you start breathing heavily, no matter what pace you go at. Hills people! Hills people!

Taman Desa hilltop – Seputeh via Old Klang Road and furniture mall (2.616km; 13:54)
Decided to loop back to the house through Jalan Taman Bukit Desa (wrong choice coz the road was littered with mud, grime, dirty water filled potholes and if you add dodging the oncoming vehicles…you get the pic). This portion was nice though coz it was downhill. There were 2 cops on bikes at the junction of the road leading to the house and I waved/smiled at them – hey, you don’t wanna piss off any authoritative figures, at least not at 7 am.

And since the blog has been devoid of pics lately, here are some of my eats (as well as friends’) over the weekend.

Marche’s pork knuckle and mashed potatoes (yes, for one person). I had the rosti (top of pic)





Dessert was carrot cake.


Saturday morning got off to a good start with a warm chocolatey Cadbury drink and toast (sunflower oil).



The weekend was also peppered with some party snacks – hey this happens when you’re away and with friends. Lots of catching up over drinks and snacks. Or meals.
