Route: 2 laps around Taman Desa Seputeh
Distance: 2 * 4km = 8km (Garmin: 8.09km)
Timing: 42:45 for 5:16 min/km pace
Was surprised the legs held up well this morning, especially after yesterday morning’s date. I’m guessing 2 factors worked in my favour: (1) it rained in the early morning and (2) it wasn’t a double workout day yesterday (Kei Ming and I skipped yesterday evening’s adiNation Training Run due to rain + traffic). It’s runs like this morning that make you want to go out again and again and again. Remind me of this during my next whine-fest.
Warm up: House to train station (394m; 2:33)
Cautious start coz I wasn’t sure the legs would hold up – yeah, DOMS.
Lap 1 (3.373km; 17:50)
Kept the pace easy since the first km is an upslope. Crap! WTH am I talking about???!!! The first 2km is an upslope – not death defying steep but gradual and the top end of each mini slope is steeper. And there are I-lost-count-how-many-slopes-there-are. Oh so you think you’re done…and then you’re confronted with the steepest slope there is at km3 – the only and I mean ONLY consolation is the downhill after that.
Lap 2 (3.373km; 17:25)
Oh yeah…now we got to repeat lap 1 AGAIN. There were a few rain drops towards the end of lap 1. You know what’s freaky about the splits…km2 of both laps were the same and there were the slowest of the lot.
Hmmm…do I do another lap or take a chance with the dogs along the main road to hit another 2km or finish up with the furniture mall loop? Let’s just get it over…hey, you should quit while the going is good.
Finishing mile: Train station to and around the furniture mall loop (952m; 4:52)
Legs felt good and sped up slightly.
Other stuff
Another piece of good news…received an email yesterday saying my BFF and I are among the first few (hundreds?) of teams in the Nike Goddess and are getting a finisher’s tee. Oy vay! Now let’s see what the Goddess will hand out this weekend – will keep you guys updated!

I have recently moved to Seputeh and started running after very long break. I am looking for any advice, especially where to run flat trails as I have problems with knees after running downhill. I now follow your blog and will go through the Seputeh - related posts, but any help will be appreciated! Thanks
Take it slow and enjoy exploring the neighbourhood!
