Deepavali Run – 26 October 2011

Route: Bukit Persekutuan a.k.a. Inter-State

Distance: 10.3km

Timing: 1:04:10 for 6:13 min/km pace

SW and I were supposed to do the BA-Hartamas route for her maiden LSD in this part of town but we decided to tag along with the group that had gathered at the BA car park. And it was a big group; spotted among them, KK, Vijay, Adam, Alexis, Henry, Yen Erl, Bryan etc.

SW, Adam and I were in the lead and chatted for most of the way. I guess it was a “culture shock” for SW to discover that we had to cross a major road (outside the tunnel/Muzium Negara) and cross a pedestrian bridge. All part of an urban city run! SW and Adam were evenly matched in pace and they both enjoyed the run although SW did mention the loss of salt after the run due to the humidity. I didn’t think it was that humid; probably because we usually run this route in the evening when the sun is still out and the heat+humidity is even higher.

After yesterday’s “successful” run, SW and I are planning on tackling another run on Hari Raya Haji – it could be the same route or Double Hills. We’ll see. I finished up the morning with a 35 minute cool down on the elliptical. It was a slow-and-take-it-easy day, workout wise, for me. This is a good thing since this is cut back week.

The rest of the day involved being comatose in bed, spot of yoga with Richard and having this

after which it was back to item 1 above, like 20 minutes after dinner! LOL!
