As Ming rightly pointed out, yoga can be deceptive. I woke up in the middle of Saturday/Sunday night with my back and shoulder blades crying out in agony. The ache and pain did not subside until today.
Volker took us several asanas with emphasis on proper alignment rather than getting the asanas done. We even skipped the sun salutations. As a result, we used a lot of props e.g. wall, block. It is only when we do it correctly that we realized how much we overcompensate or use the wrong muscles doing it freestyle or incorrectly.
Some of the asanas we worked on include
- Triangle pose
- Half moon pose
- Side angle pose – the classical pose and the integrated pose with the bind
- Hand stand – various poses building into the final pose
- Warrior 2
- Warrior 3
