Slow and Easy

I did a slow and easy run on Tuesday morning – 4.82 km in 26:26 minutes. It was a conscious decision to take it easy today after Saturday’s KDU-MAKNA run. The current thinking is that easy runs during trainings since the rule of thumb is runners tend to go about ½ minute faster during races – if I could sustain an average of 5:30 min/km, I could possibly target 5:00 – 5:20 min/km during races? These targets are slightly faster than my current timings and I’m not looking for exponential increases and thereafter die out – slow steady increases are more my type.
