Taman Seputeh Hill Training – 21 June 2013

Route: Le Chateau - Taman Desa Seputeh
Distance: 5.65km (Garmin)
Timing: 31:05 for 5:30 min/km pace

Every step this morning was a incessant reminder of Michael and yesterday’s workout! Every. Freaking. Step. Even. On. The. Downhills. And. Flats. It felt like someone had drive a dagger deep into the quads, glutes, hip abductors, hip adductors and by a cruel fate, twisting it like you would do while wringing a towel!

Add to that, someone was very “semangat” after his weekend’s triumph and had the vigor of an Energizer bunny. I so needed that for the last day of the workweek when things are supposed to be “heating up” and “go go go”, eh?!?!

Home to train station (3.011km; 17:18)
Spent the first 1.5km catching up and thank heavens we started early because the “Gudang Garam smog” has not set in, at least not too much. The hills were tough – oh you mean, they’re meant to be?!?!?! Memory must have slipped me. And running, more like shuffling, on these legs = pure torture.

Train station to home (2.613km; 13:43)
Chasing Energizer bunny and wondering why I agreed to come out this morning!

And in a surprising twist of fate and the best comment of the day: From a gym friend (ya know, those people you see, wave to, exchange small talks everyday): “You wake me up everyday when you run by my place”.

Ok, one tropical race recap done; now I just need to sit down and nail the other. At. Some. Point. In. My. Life.
