I’ve been trying to extend the distance I cover during the short runs before my weight training sessions with Satish. Baby steps like 200-300 meters and so far it’s been working out all right. I’ve also been able to clock better timings and these were on runs where I deliberately take it easier and mentally refuse to push myself. Oh maybe just some spurts of ante upping at the end. My average timings for the last 2 short runs are about 5:27-5:30 min/km vs. 6:00 min/km in the gym prior to enrolling in the Adidas Running Community and running outdoors.
We did legs’ training today, not the usual combination of legs+shoulders. The specifics are:
- BB squats (0, 25 lbs, 35 lbs, 45 lbs, 45 lbs)
- Supersets of: Leg press (90 lbs, 100 lbs, 110 lbs, 110 lbs) and BW squats
- Prone leg curl (30 lbs, 50 lbs, 70 lbs, 70 lbs + 30 lbs)
- Walking lunges (32.5 lbs * 4)
- Leg extension
The session ended with an abs workout.
